History of the USBA
History of the United States Blowpipe Association (USBA)
The United States Blowpipe Association (USBA) represents the evolution of blowpipe shooting from a recreational and hunting activity into a structured, precision-based sport. Formerly known as the United States Blowgun Association, the organization has transitioned to focus exclusively on competitive blowpipe target shooting, following a path similar to how Olympic archery diverged from bowhunting.
Aligning with International Shooting Standards
To establish blowpipe shooting as a recognized competitive sport, the USBA has fully aligned its rules, regulations, and competition structure with both the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF)—the governing body for Olympic shooting sports—and the International Fukiya Association (IFA), which promotes traditional and modern blowpipe competition worldwide. This ensures that USBA events meet global standards for fairness, precision, and athletic excellence, positioning American competitors on the international stage.
A New Era for Blowpipe Competition
The USBA is dedicated to promoting blowpipe target shooting as a premier precision shooting sport. By offering interactive competitions, structured leagues, national championships, and training programs for athletes of all skill levels. Whether you’re an experienced marksman or a newcomer seeking a unique challenge, the USBA welcomes you to be part of the future of competitive blowpipe shooting.
Blowpipe shooting isn’t just a challenge—it’s the perfect combination of athletic power, mental focus, and precision. Breathe, focus, fire, and become unstoppable.”
